Compared to Meiringen, Payerne and Emmen, Sion AFB is certainly the less active air force base in Switzerland. Nevertheless and for our great pleasure, the silence of the valley is still repeatedly broken by the different RC (Repetition Course F5/F18), ST (Squadron Training F5 or F18) and IT (Individual Training) that take place during the year.
When the intense RC of April/May ends (see CR2011 gallery), the STs remain the principal military activity over the year at Sion AFB. Last month, a ST (F5 Tigers) took place for two weeks from 20 June until 1 July. Here are some pictures.
